Farhad Moshiri sold 15 percent of Arsenal on Friday and confirmed a deal for 49.9 percent of Everton on Saturday.

Roberto Martinez figures to have significantly more money available to him use on the transfer market.

The club’s wage cap will be demolished this summer and the first impact will be to convince Ross Barkley, John Stones and Romelu Lukaku to remain the team’s core on long-term contracts. 

A resolution to Everton’s stadium saga is also on Moshiri’s agenda for the summer. 

Gerard Pique says he has too much love still for Manchester United to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Pique moved to United in 2004 from La Masia and was unable to become a regular for Alex Ferguson and returned to Barcelona in 2008.

Pique has since become one of the world's best center backs.

"My love for Manchester United is too great for me to sign for City, even though Pep is a great coach.

"I'm very happy in Barcelona. United are my second club, but my future is at Barca. I'm very proud to play at Barcelona. I think it's the best club in the world.

"I would like to try a different league when I've got a few years to go before retiring. I don't know if it will be Colombia -- I'd like that for [wife] Shakira, but nobody can predict the future."

Tim Howard is on the verge of completing a move from Everton to the Colorado Rapids of the MLS.

Colorado's interest in Howard first surfaced in January, shortly after it acquired the top spot in the MLS allocation order, which gave the team first crack at a set list of U.S. internationals and former MLS players who might be interested in coming to the league.

After initially saying Howard could leave on a free transfer, Everton then asked for a fee that was eventually agreed upon somewhere between $600,000 and $750,000.

Howard also initially asked for a four-year deal worth $5 million annually but his agreed upon salary will be approximately $2 million.

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to insist he's happy at Real Madrid and doesn't want to leave in the summer.

"Real Madrid is a club with a lot of pressure from both inside and outside, but I have been here for many years and I am used to it," he told Mahou.

Juventus fears Real Madrid will buy back Alvaro Morata this summer only to immediately sell him on at a profit.

Juventus bought Morata from Real Madrid for €22 million in 2014, in a deal which included a clause allowing them to repurchase him for €35 million this coming summer.

Morata scored 13 times last season, including a goal against Real Madrid in the Champions League semifinals.

"Real Madrid could see themselves obliged to repurchase the player, but in reality they might do it without having any sporting interest in Morata," Marotta said. "We hope he is not repurchased to immediately make a profit on him. They would be within their rights. There is a time-frame to do that, and we don't know if it will happen or not."

Jose Mourinho would prefer to wait until the summer to return to the sidelines in the summer so he can start a season fresh.

Pressure continues to mount on Louis van Gaal as Manchester United is in a run of poor form.

Mourinho, though – speaking to students at an event in Singapore – said he was satisfied to wait for the “right project”, playing down talk of a return to management before May. “I always feel that it’s better to wait, not to rush, better to be calm, to wait for the right moment, the right move,” he said. “I feel that starting the next season with a new club and project is probably the best thing for me.

“I’m travelling, enjoying my family, enjoying my friends and my life, and I wait to see what happens. The reality is I like football so much, I miss football, and when I have the chance to be back I will come back.”

Mourinho is widely expected to become the next manager of United.

“I read so many different things. One day it says I go to China, another day it says I go to Italy, and people say I’m back to Inter Milan. I’m here – probably, you are saying I will do the Singapore national team. But the reality is I have no job, and at the moment I’m happy not to have a job.”

Chelsea will hold more talks with Antonio Conte's representatives on Thursday.

Conte has emerged as the frontrunner as Massimiliano Allegri has distanced himself from the situation and Diego Simeone is unwilling to make a decision at this point in Atletico's season.

Conte's deal with Italy expires after Euro 2016.

Chelsea are prepared to offer a salary of £6.3 million per season to Conte.

Guus Hiddink, Chelsea’s interim manager, signed a contract until the summer in December and has lost only one of his 13 games, the last-16 Champions League tie against Paris St-Germain in France last week.

Sergio Busquets is hoping to extend his contract with Barcelona.

Busquets is signed through the 18-19 season and has been linked to Manchester City.

"It's a situation that depends on the president," he said. 

"I hope he sticks to his word, but I am confident that everything will find a solution.

"I know where I want to be. I feel valued at Barcelona and we are in a great moment."

Michael Carrick is considering a move abroad as his deal with Manchester United expires this summer.

Carrick is 34 and joined United from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006.

Carrick will consider offers outside of Europe with the MLS and clubs from the Middle East interested in signing him.

Lazio have denied reports of a deal to sell Felipe Anderson to Manchester United.

However, club president Claudio Lotito is quoted in a report from La Città di Salerno as saying: “I bought Felipe Anderson for €8 million and have sold him for €60 million – next year he will go to Manchester United.”

United reportedly attempted to sign Anderson in January having also failed with a bid of £37.6 million last summer.
